From Microsoft help pages on OneNote app: Exporting and importing notebooks through OneNote for the web is only available for notebooks stored on personal OneDrive accounts, not for notebooks stored on OneDrive for Business or SharePoint.

Those concerned by this may wish to vote for backup options to be added to OneNote for Mac here: onenote. Why does it not apply to the author? There's no indication of whether it's personal or not, only that they can 't download it. This is the most correct answer so far — ElectricLlama. I think it was corporate use IIRC — northerner. This works for Windows 10, not sure which update made it possible, but I've been doing it for at least 2 years: make sure both your personal onedrive and onedrive for business are syncing to your computer through the trey apps.
This creates an extra copy, it does not move the original. I suggest renaming the personal copy on onedrive so it's distinguishable easily. Give it time and make sure it is done and didn't experience sync issues You could also do the 'export' from OneNote , but my large notebooks tend to fail. FYI you can still download OneNote , just google that and follow the links. I too was struggling with it for a long time i wanted a pdf copy , at last i got it- Open the desktop app view of office Click on the button with 3dots in the upper extreme right of the screen and select print.
A new window opens up, now select the option you want 3 given-includes pdf,XPS doc writer and onenote on the left just below where printer is written. Click on Print and select a location of your choice where you want to save. I needed to copy my notebook to a new account. You need to log in and stuff Hopefully your existing company notebook is open. Now you can right click on each tab and copy to the new company notebook.

You now have what you need to download the one note file. You got me hopeful, but this didn't work for me. No subfolder, but the notebook has a space in the name, unlike SuperCoolNotebook.

Easy to follow. Pick a folder for the downloaded files, then tap Save. In the OneDrive app, open the folder that has the photos or videos you want to download. Select a photo or video. In the OneDrive app, select the check box of the file or files that you want. For Windows phones, tap and hold the file you want to download, then select the check boxes for any additional files you want.
Select Download. For Windows phones, tap More , then tap Download. You can also tap and hold any of the files you selected in Step 1, then tap Download. To find the files you downloaded, in the Downloads pane that appears when your download starts, select Open downloads folder.
For Windows phones, find and open the folder on your device where you want the downloads, and then tap Save. Note: For the app, if you select multiple files, they will download together as a single zipped folder.
